Lead Detail
On this page
The Lead Detail Screen
Clicking any lead in the lead list opens the Lead Detail screen — the full record for that lead, and where most day-to-day work happens. Everything on this screen is editable in place: click a field, change it, and it saves.
Choosing your layout
The layout dropdown in the bar at the top of the screen lets you pick how the Lead Detail is arranged. Your choice is saved to your user account, so it follows you from lead to lead.
- Dynamic Layout — the panels can be dragged into whatever order suits you. Grab a panel by the grip handle in its header and drop it where you want it. Your arrangement is remembered.
- Fixed Layout — the same panels and the same information, in a set order that cannot be rearranged. Choose this if you would rather every lead look identical every time.
Both layouts contain exactly the same panels and the same features. Nothing is hidden in one and available in the other — the only difference is whether you can reorder the panels.
The top bar
- « Lead List returns you to the list you came from, with your filters intact.
- The layout dropdown switches between Dynamic and Fixed.
- Help opens this page.
- Next and Previous step through the leads in your current list without going back to it.
The opportunity bar
Across the top of the record sits the opportunity summary: the lead's value, the assigned user, the account, and a stage bar running from 0% to 100%.
- Edit Value sets the monetary value of the opportunity.
- Click any stage in the bar to move the opportunity to that stage.
- Won and Lost close the opportunity out.
- The (change) links beside Opportunity and Stage switch which pipeline the lead is on, or jump it to a different stage.
- Expected close date is editable, and shows how many days remain.
- Opportunity activity shows the history of stage changes for this lead.
See Lead Status/Pipeline for the full detail.
Lead actions
The row of buttons beneath the opportunity bar acts on the whole lead:
- Mark Unread flags the lead as unread again, so it stands out in your lead list.
- Print View opens a clean, printable version of the record.
- Copy duplicates the lead into another account you have access to.
- Apply Workflow runs a workflow against this lead.
- Archive removes the lead from active lists without deleting it.
- Delete removes the lead. Deleted leads are recoverable for a limited period.
The panels
The record is divided into panels. Each has its own help page:
- Fields — General Fields hold the basic contact information; Custom Fields hold whatever your account has been set up to track. Read-Only Fields show data captured at import or from a form that cannot be edited here.
- Lead Status/Pipeline — where the lead sits in your sales process.
- Types — labels used to categorise and filter leads.
- Users — who this lead is assigned to.
- Grouped Leads — other leads linked to this one, plus Stored Duplicates.
- Tasks — active tasks on this lead, which you can add, edit, complete or delete without leaving the page.
- History — the full audit trail.
- Comments — your own date-stamped notes.
- Email — every message sent to this lead.
- Attachments — files stored against the lead.
- Audits — automatic records of what changed and when.
- Details — when the lead was added and last modified, its group, and its original source.
Panel names follow whatever your account calls them. If your administrator has renamed Types to "Categories", for example, that is the name you will see.
Editing in place
You do not open a separate edit screen. Hover any field and it highlights; click it and it becomes editable. Save the field and the panel updates immediately. Any user assigned to the lead can edit it.
Two fields have shortcuts beside them: Log Call and Log Text next to the phone number, and Send Email next to the email address. Each records the activity in History as well as performing the action.
Working with History
The History panel is the running record of everything that has happened to this lead. The coloured icons along the top of the panel filter it:
- Flag — status changes
- Speech bubble — comments
- Clock — audit entries
- Envelope — emails
- Phone — logged calls
- Message — logged SMS texts
- Paperclip — attachments
- House — logged visits
The Choose Entry dropdown on the right adds a new entry: a Comment, a logged Call, Text or Visit, or an Attachment. Cancel Send appears when there are pending emails queued to this lead and stops them going out.
Common questions
How do I rearrange the panels?
Switch to Dynamic Layout, then drag any panel by the grip handle in its header. Fixed Layout does not allow reordering.
Is my layout choice shared with my team?
No. It is saved per user, so everyone picks their own.
Why can't I edit a field?
Either it is a Read-Only Field, or you are not assigned to the lead. Assigned users and administrators can edit; others can view only.
Where did a panel go?
Some panels only appear when they have content — Grouped Leads and Stored Duplicates, for instance, are hidden when the lead has neither.
