Reporting Guide
Some questions cannot be answered from what a CRM normally keeps. A lead only stores its current status, so you cannot tell when it moved; a form only knows the leads it produced, not how many people looked at it. Along with Reporting, Open Leads started recording the extra details these reports need.

Some questions cannot be answered from what a CRM normally keeps. A lead only stores its current status, so you cannot tell when it moved; a form only knows the leads it produced, not how many people looked at it. Along with Reporting, Open Leads started recording the extra details these reports need.
| What is recorded | How | Used by |
|---|---|---|
| Status history | Every new lead and every status change, with the old and new status, who made it and when, recorded as it happens. | Pipeline movement, Wins by month, Status movement |
| Nightly pipeline snapshot | Shortly after midnight, how many leads and how much value sit in each status of every account. | Pipeline over time |
| Form views | Each time a hosted form is opened, and whether it is a new visitor that day. | Form conversion, form views and conversion rate |
| Where form leads came from | UTM tags, referring site, landing page, ad click IDs, device and channel, recorded when the form is sent, keeping each lead’s first source. | Marketing channels, UTM campaigns, the Channel and UTM breakdowns |
| Last touch | The date and kind of the latest touch on each lead. | Every idle-lead report and number |
What was filled in from history
- Status history: status changes already in your activity log were copied in. The status a lead had before its first logged change is not known, so it shows as (Before tracking).
- Last touch: worked out from the calls, texts, visits, notes, attachments, emails, completed tasks, status changes and workflows already recorded on each lead.
- Pipeline snapshots, form views and form lead sources cannot be rebuilt for the past. They start the day tracking began.
How you can tell
- Library reports, breakdowns and numbers that use new tracking are marked New.
- When a report uses new tracking, a note at the top says it fills up from the day tracking began.
- A report on these sources covering dates before then will be empty or low for those dates. That is expected, not an error.
Recording this is automatic and has no effect on how you use Open Leads. If tracking ever fails for a moment, the form still shows and the lead is still saved.
